Community Development Administration (CDA)
Maryland Mortgage Programs provides home buyer assistance programs by offering down payment and closing cost assistance of up to $5,000 to eligible home buyers. Find out More
Mortgage Credit Certificate, or “HomeCredit”
Allows a Maryland homeowner to claim an annual federal tax credit equivalent to 25% of their mortgage interest payments in a given tax year. Receive a check of up to $2,000 per year for the life of the loan. A Maryland Home Credit can potentially save a home buyer tens of thousands of dollars over the life of a loan, and makes owning a home more affordable.
HOC – Housing Opportunities Commission
This program provides 5% of the sales price up to $10,000 as a second mortgage which can be used for down payment and/or closing costs.
3% Down Payment with Financed Mortgage Insurance
Down payment of only 3%. Choice of monthly MI or Financed into loan.
Maryland Homefront
Maryland Homefront provides military veterans and active duty military with a special interest rate discount of 0.25% for a 30-year, fixed rate mortgage, and Maryland HomeCredit, providing annual federal tax savings, free of all DHCD fees. This initiative is in appreciation of the contributions made by members of the United States armed services and their families.
National Home Buyers Fund
The NHF Platinum Program provides down payment assistance (up to 5% of the loan amount) in conjunction with the purchase of a primary residence in various states. Restrictions may apply. Find out More
